What is DUI School?

DUI School is the initial response to drug and alcohol related offenses. An educational intervention, the DUI School is designed to raise awareness of the many consequences linked to excessive use of alcohol and drugs. The hope is that a more informed individual will beAdvanced DUI School Reno Sparks less likely to repeat troublesome behaviors. For this reason, most court mandates for DUI offenses include attendance at an accredited DUI School.

The State of Nevada has a series of tiered responses to DUI offenses called "Levels." The Level I DUI School is an educational course while Levels II, II-X. and III include a group therapy component. While Level I is commonly considered for first time offenders, individuals may be referred to higher levels based on a number of factors such as having an elevated BAC (Blood Alcohol Content) or situations involving multiple DUIs. Advanced DUI School offers clients mandated to Level II, II-X & III programs the same consideration and compassionate treatment as seen by Level I clients. Level I DUI School is typically offered in two, four hour classroom sessions including hourly breaks of ten minutes. The two classroom sessions (often called Class A and Class B) must be offered on different days per State of Nevada regulations.

DUI School parameters are set forth by Nevada State law. This includes the regulation and licensing of instructors and DUI Advanced DUI School Reno SparksSchools as well as the curriculum. The regulatory body for DUI Schools is the State of Nevada, Department of Motor Vehicles. NAC 483.782 defines the content of courses taught on abuse of alcohol and controlled substances.
