Level IIX or Level III DUI School

Level IIX, III DUI School are the next steps in the State of Nevada's response to impaired driving under what may be considered to be more serious circumstances

Certain factors can warrant inclusion in this program for an individual such as :

•     A high Blood Alcohol Content (Indicating possible tolerance)

•     Multiple DUI/Drinking-related offenses

•     Circumstances of the arrest

•     Findings of an evaluation may recommend placement in higher level program

•     Evaluations are mandated by Nevada State Law for those with a BAC at .18 or higher

A typical Level IIX program is six months in length (26 weeks)

A Level III program is a year long (52 weeks) but can be extended for as long as 3 years.

Level IIX and Level III programs are considered to be 484 programs in that they may be extended due to the needs of the client such as an inability to remain abstinent.

All clients enrolled in Substance Abuse Group Therapy sessions are expected to have evaluations. Most will have been court mandated and a copy should be provided to your counselor. If you have not had a prior evaluation you may be sent to a certified Evaluation Center to complete one.

Basic components of these programs include the following:

•     Clients will actively participate in Substance Abuse Group Therapy Sessions. 1 Hour each weekly for the duration of the mandated program

•     Sessions will include psychotherapy based on principles of Motivational Interviewing and 12 Step Facilitation

•     All participants are expected to remain abstinent through the entire time that they are in the program. Should one fail in their attempt at             sobriety it is important that they share that with their group and therapist. Making a mistake is not the problem, failing to learn the lesson is.

•     Self-Help activities are an important mandate of all our programs. Weekly attendance a three AA/NA meetings during each week is mandatory

•     for completion. Other programs, such as journal writing, may be available for those who would prefer an alternative to 12 Step attendance.

Weekly fees for group therapy sessions are 25.00 and are due at the time of the session.

Advanced DUI School offers Substance Abuse Group Therapy Sessions on these days:

• Monday 3:30-4:30 pm

• Wednesday 5-6 pm (AA Focus Group) For those who are interested in enhancing their 12 Step Programs!

• Thursday 12 (noon)-1 pm and 4-5 pm

• Friday 4-5 pm and 6-7 pm

Monthly progress reports will be sent to all parties involved in your case (Court, legal representative, Alternative Sentencing, Parole &Probation)

Reports will reflect the following:

1.     Client's attendance and participation

2.     Client's attitude concerning sobriety/recover, often called the Stage of Change

3.     Client participation (or lack thereof) in Self-Help activities

4.     Any outstanding balance of past due amounts. Courts view a high balance as a sign of old behaviors (lack of responsibility & commitment)
