Intensive Outpatient Program

Alcoholism and addiction are progressive disorders which worsen over time. Oftentimes, the solitary struggle with the bottle or the bag leads to physical dependence that can be difficult to overcome. More intensive treatment programs can help establish sobriety enabling the client to gain a better perspective.

For those individuals that have developed a strong, intimate relationship with their substance of choice, conventional, weekly sessions are often not enough to help them regain control of their lives. A higher level of care, often called the Intensive Outpatient Program, or IOP, has been proven effective in helping these clients break free from their addictions.

Our Intensive Outpatient Program is a structured series of group and individual sessions that address the specific needs of the individual. Specific topic areas include: coping skill development, relapse prevention, case studies, meditation and 12 Step facilitation. Attendance at AA/NA meetings is required as is completion of the Drug and Alcohol Education classes.

The IOP sessions are held on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 4:30-8 pm with an individual session to be scheduled for Thursday and 12 Step attendance over the weekend. The Intensive Outpatient Program is of a four week duration at which time the client is re-assessed for progress and, if appropriate progress has been made, they will step down to lower level of care for the remainder of their treatment.

Our Intensive Outpatient Program is much more cost effective than those found in large treatment centers located within major hospitals. Without the high overhead costs, we can offer an IOP at a discounted rate. See our Fee Schedule page for more information.

*Those that qualify for an IOP are clients that are not in need of detoxification (or have completed that stage at a medical facility), are considered medically and psychologically stable and need no specialized services and have been recommended for an IOP by a Drug and Alcohol Evaluator.
